DO WATER, ROCKS OR TREES HAVE CONSCIOUSNESS?
I believe they do, but not in the way you may think. A tree, a rock or pond of water does not sit and think as we do. They do not put concepts together or solve problems as we do. They are, however, able to respond to our outreach when we focus our energies and open to their specific vibrations and unique manner of communication. They speak ‘tree’, or ‘rock’ or ‘water’ rather than Spanish or English. They speak through their unique frequencies; they speak energetically.
All mass has energy. Each mass is made up of a unique blend of frequencies. As a mass of energies these inanimate objects have the consciousness of their specific and unique blend of frequencies. Rocks, trees and water can communicate with you. they resonate their vibrations that are then translated into concepts by each of us. It therefore appears that we are conversing and in energetic terms, we are.
I was prompted to write this blog post after reading an interview with Prof. Masaru Emoto, well-known for his extraordinary photographs of water crystals. (Read more of Reiko’s interviews with Dr. Emoto). I love and totally support his ground-breaking photographic work. It visually demonstrates the reality of the energetic realm through images of frozen water molecules and the effect of our thoughts on the environment. I do not agree, however, with his interpretation of the consciousness of inanimate objects. Prof Emoto says… “Water reflects the consciousness of the human race”.
By contrast, I believe that each water crystal has a unique frequency and is able to reflect to us the specific consciousness or the vibration of that crystal. Some water crystals are extremely beautiful, symmetric and harmonious, while others are off-balance, distorted and even ugly. I perceive the different presentations as reflections of the vibrations caused by the state of being of that particular water crystal. Is it clean, clear, blessed or infused with love and light, creating a beautiful image or is it toxic – distorted by chemicals, physical trash or angry and greedy thoughts producing a repulsive image?
Prof Emoto goes on to say that “Water crystals are spirits” and that “We (humans) traveled here to Earth on the water crystals of spheres of ice… “ While a lovely story to explain something that is mysterious and confusing. I believe his theory is just that - ‘a lovely story’ for something he doesn’t understand.
Trees, rocks and water all have their own unique frequencies and they communicate via those vibrations.
I love ‘talking to trees’. I have a few favorite trees in various countries around the world. When I am drawn to a particular tree, I will put my forehead and palms on the trunk of the tree, say a little prayer to clear and calm myself and tune in to the vibrations of the tree. Perhaps the most wonderful experience of this occurred in India. I was with a wonderful Indian Guide at the Botanical Garden in Delhi. This was the first stop in a day-long tour. I was very surprised to be escorted to the gardens rather than any number of temples or other tourist sites. He was taking me to what he called, ‘The Magical Tree’ – a unique tree each of whose leaves was a different shape! I did not want to believe, but I did see this tree with my own eyes. It does exist. I was fascinated, intrigued, and curious. I wanted to understand. I put my head against the trunk of the tree, tuned in and asked for an explanation. The words I heard in my head touched me deeply and brought tears to my eyes. The tree shared that it produced many different kinds of leaves to engender an appreciation of differences in all who saw it. A glorious concept! My irrefutable experience that trees (and rocks and water) do have consciousness…

Dear Elaine, I finally had a moment to read your words and your emphasis on sensing the energy is so needed! I will make a little quibble, in that you have contradicted yourself here. First you say, A tree, a rock or pond of water does not sit and think as we do. They do not put concepts together or solve problems as we do.” and then you say, “The words I heard in my head touched me deeply and brought tears to my eyes. The tree shared that it produced many different kinds of leaves to engender an appreciation of differences in all who saw it. A glorious concept! My irrefutable experience that trees (and rocks and water) do have consciousness…”
Having spent years typing out the words trees say, I can only add what I’ve learned, which is that there are many trees that are spiritually awakened, even masters (usually larger, older ones), who have no problem learning to communicate in our languages, thinking, or solving problems. Actually recently there is a huge collaboration going on amongst the trees to try to save the planet and humanity. They are literally “retooling” themselves. I’m happy to send you the handout from Tree Love: Heart of the Forest workshops, with excerpts from the dialogues I’ve been having that will eventually be in a book. With great love and blessings, Elisa Novick.

Dear Elisa,
Thanks for your correction. I should not have made that comment at the start of what I wrote. I stand corrected. I do believe the trees can communicate and I have experienced that…not only the tree in India, but in other places as well. That was just my most dramatic experience.
Yes, I would love to see your handout; it sounds fascinating. And, I am glad that you will be putting what you have learned into a book. It is needed……blessings, Elaine
